Theory at CMC
Why Theory?
All musicians can benefit from the study of theory, as it clarifies the workings of music and makes the study of music more comprehensible and enjoyable. On Saturday mornings via ZOOM, our students can study theory with the curriculum designed by the Royal Conservatory of Music. Two levels are offered. What a great way to start off a CMC Saturday!

The Royal Conservatory theory curriculum is an effective and well-sequenced path for developing musical understanding and literacy and strongly encourages study at every level.
Each student’s learning is enriched through interactivity with creative composition, analysis, and music appreciation. Integration of guided listening activities allow for a shared experience.
