Chang/Chavkin Musicians Scholarship Award

Through a generous donation from Laura Chang and Arnold L. Chavkin, CMC is proud to offer three $6,000 scholarships to young musicians who demonstrate outstanding artistic merit and show financial need. These awards are available to current and new CMC students through an audition and interview process.

2023-2024 Recipients

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR SEASON 2023 - 2024

Eligibility

  • Ages 12 and up

  • Minimum four years of instrumental study (exceptions may be made by the audition committee).

  • Must participate in all CMC activities with outstanding responsibility, attitude, and attendance.

  • Qualifying instruments: All Strings, All Woodwinds, and Piano (Brass may contact info@chambermusiccenter.org for consideration).

  • Please view our repertoire and audition requirements.

  • Families must demonstrate financial need as explained in the application.*

  • Must contribute $100 commitment fee towards tuition.*


*Extenuating circumstances may be reviewed by the audition committee

Scholarship Details

Recipients of the scholarship award will receive full tuition for Season 2023-2024 plus a private lesson stipend.

  • A stipend for thirty 60-minute private lessons from a CMC approved teacher of their choice.

  • Scholarship recipients are expected to participate in all CMC programs: 

    • Chamber Music 

    • Orchestra 

    • Solos

    • Masterclasses 

    • Performances 

  • Must perform on at least 3 CMC SOLOS recitals.
